Today, VALVe has released an update in collaboration with Hidden Path Studio which ports Counter - Strike: Source to the Orange Box Source Engine Version and made Cs: S also available for the MAC community.
This huge update is a major change, since this means that Cs: S now also uses the same Source Engine Version like Day of Defeat: Source and Team Fortress 2 do. The latest update now adds multicore support and also contains a lot of new updates for the Source Engine. This, of course also affects Mani Admin Plug-in. There are 2 major changes with this engine update, that do have an impact on Mani Admin Plug-in:
- A) Counter - Strike: Source runs on the Orange Box now!
The old binaries that currently are used on your server for Cs: S have been designed for the old engine version. It is absolutly necessary to replace them with the latest Orange Box Source Engine Version builds that now get stored in /orangebox/cstrike.
- B) The way Mani Admin Plug-in is loaded as VSP (mani_admin_plugin.vdf requires _i486 extension on Linux)
If you want to load Mani Admin Plug-in on the Orange Box, you need to specify wether if your server os is Windows or Linux based by specifing it via an _i486 extension for Linux. You might need to create a new mani_admin_plugin.vdf in your /addons folder if you're using Mani Admin Plug-in on Linux as VSP (VALVe Server Plug-in)
If you do experience problems with the latest update, please contact us via the forums while providing us with as much information about your server enviroment as possible and especially, if available, with core dumps from your server. If you are using Mani Admin Plug-in as MetaMod: Source Plug-in, you also need to update your MM: S installation.
